Award
Winning News
For decades, area Arkansans have depended on KLYR's Award Winning News
to keep them well informed of happenings, both local and regional. At
KLYR, we take news serious...whether it's keeping locals aware of
birthdays, anniversaries, and obituary reports or being the citizen's
watchdog of governmental affairs, both local and statewide. Those in the
area know we'll bring them the truth...and not the gossip heard from so
many other news organizations these days. KLYR's Newscasts can be heard
at 7:00am, 12:00n, and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, on The Valley's
News Leader!
Peoples Exchange
If any one program would be labeled the blood of KLYR, it
would surely be our very popular "Peoples Exchange". Three times daily,
West-Arkansans come together in one voice on the valley's most popular
talk show. Need to buy, sell, or trade? Lost your pet, wallet, or other
personal article? Most in this are will tell you... "You'll probably
find it on the Peoples Exchange". Peoples Exchange can be heard at 6:30
and 7:30 each morning...and again at 12:30pm, Monday through Friday on
KLYR AM & FM.
West Arkansas' Best Variety
of Music
Being a "real community radio station" also means being unrestricted by
the syndicated networks usually heard on stations owned by big radio
corprorations. In a nutshell, that means we are able to select our own
music..every single song. KLYR features the finest quality in country
music today...even independent artists who don't get airplay on any
other radio station in the valley. With that, we're used to hearing,,,
"I hear songs on KLYR that I don't hear anywhere else!"
Add to that our wide library of classic, but not forgotten, hits from as
far back as the 50s, and you've got a country music variety unmatched by
any other station in West Arkansas...and a format that draws listeners
from all ages. You've also got a variety of songs that keeps listeners
dial on KLYR all day and all night.
Sunday Morning Hymntime
For decades, listeners have enjoyed KLYR's selection of hymns
from artists such as Tennessee Ernie Ford,
George Beverly Shea, The Lundstrums,
Gaither Vocal Band, and more.
From five to nine each Sunday morning,
KLYR provides the gentle wake-up call for West-Arkansans
as they prepare for church or other Sunday activities.
